Hello World, and Happy New Year!
Is this the year you promise yourself you’ll learn how to build a WordPress blog?
If so, welcome. Check out my free WordPress tutorial which will get you off to a great start.
The beauty of WordPress is that it’s free to use and you can create a really wonderful looking blog without having to know any HTML or CSS or any of that technical stuff. Even if you are a complete, wet behind the ears, totally dumb-ass newbie, you too can learn how to build your own WordPress blog. With my WordPress tutorial you’ll sail through!
And don’t think WordPress is just for bloggers. WordPress is a complete web platform. If you want to you can build a blog that looks just like a website. Nobody will know that you haven’t employed the services of a smart web designer to code it all for you (except you - because you won’t have to pay any bills!)
No excuses. No prevarication. Get 2009 off to a great start by downloading my free WordPress tutorial and starting to learn WordPress today!

My free WordPress tutorial has now been updated to cover WordPress 2.7!
WordPress 2.7 has a completely different user interface from previous versions and this has meant that I’ve had to republish my tutorial ebook.
I’ve also had to temporarily remove my ‘WordPress In 1 Day’ video tutorial because it no longer matches the current WordPress interface.
I’ll be issuing a new, revised tutorial covering how to build a WordPress blog on your own domain in your own hosting account in the New Year.
If you haven’t already downloaded my free tutorial, why not head on over to http://wordpress2go.com/wordpress-tutorial and grab it now!

WordPress blogs will, by default, display your latest posts on the front page and this is what will show up when someone visits your URL.
But what if you want to have another page displayed as your ‘home’ page? This might be a general description of what your blog is all about, or it might be a hub page giving links to resources in your blog, or it could even be your ‘About’ page.
If you want your WordPress blog to display the same page every time someone visits your URL, all you have to do is change your settings.
First of all you have to write and publish the page that you want displayed.
Then to make this page appear first, click on ‘Settings’, ‘Reading’ and look for the radio button that says ‘Front page displays’. There will be a drop down box and you can select the page that you want displayed.
Then click on ‘Save Changes’ and you’re done!
