As you might have noticed, our website is hosted at Bluehost and we regularly recommend them. But are they the only good WordPress web hosting outfit?
Heck, no!
We have also had some very good experiences with Hostgator and we are happy to refer WordPress users to them. What are the advantages of Hostgator over Bluehost?

Hostgator has good technical support, at least as good as Bluehost

Since the introduction of WordPress 3.2 earlier this year, the hosting requirements for WordPress websites and blogs have changed.
WordPress now requires hosting to provide:
PHP 5.2.4 or greater
MySQL 5.0 or greater
PHP is the computer language that WordPress is written in and, due to some of the more advanced features present in WordPress 3.2, the higher level of PHP is necessary to execute the code.
MySQL is the relational database management system (RDBS) that provides multi-user access to all the website’s content.

WordPress hosting can be a difficult decision for first-time WordPress webmasters.
